Aloha

Our trip to Maui was wonderful! I have so much to post, but don't want to bore anyone, so I will probably break this up over a couple of days. So, here goes my narration of my week in paradise.

We flew to Kahului, Maui on July 20th. We flew first class and it was very relaxing. The perfect way to begin our trip. We stayed at the Royal Lahaina resort on Kaanapali Beach for the first 4 days of our trip. We were on the 12th. floor and had a partial ocean view. It was breathtaking. We went to Old Lahaina and walked along front street and had Ululoni's shaved ice. Heavenly! We ate at Bubba Gumps, Leilani's on the Beach, Pacific O, and had dinner at our hotel one night. I loved the sweet potato fries. The sunsets here in Lahaina are amazing. We had a view of the sunset every night at dinner and just enjoyed each other's company.

Our kids were at home with Grandma McLain, Aunt Ariel and Uncle Steven. They were in good hands. Emily came down with a fever and cold the morning we left, but luckily it only lasted 24 hours. Nathan came down with the same cold, but he got over it quickly as well.
We went Snuba diving and also a lot of snorkeling. That experience will be posted later.
I had a great time.

Here is a funny story. The parking spaces at a lot of resorts are very tight. Some nights you are lucky to find a spot. One night we found a spot right next to the entrance of the tennis club. The next morning we came down to our car and someone had written a note and left it on our window. They accused us of taking 2 spots and forcing them to have to park in Valet and pay $10 more for doing so. Nathan and I just busted up laughing. Obviously they had a few too many mai tai's and their vision was impaired, and they hadn't been in Hawaii very long because they hadn't acquired the spirit of Aloha!
What do you think? Do you think another car could have fit in the spot?

I'll post part 2 tomorrow on our adventure of Snuba!
